We ONLY spray when it is absolutely necessary to save our crop, we deal with disease and pests on a case-by-case basis. We only use products that are approved by the FDA for food and produce. Therefore, all our berries are safe to eat right out of the field. Normally spray fungicide before the bloom, that is it.
Absolutely not! Strawberries are non-GMO crops. Plant breeders use a different technique to create a strawberry variety with desired traits. This technique is called hybridization. Our Cane berries are propagated, lots of the runners are replanted when other plants die off.
No. We personally don’t feel the need for a third-party certificate to know that what we grow is nutritious, safe to eat, and delicious. We have grandchildren and lots of families that come out to U-pick, we strive to produce berries on our farm that you can pick and enjoy without worrying about harsh products that some commercial farmers use.
Every 2 or 3 years we rotate our strawberries, so the soil can get nutrients naturally.
